Palm Beach Visit

Palm Beach is a great place for adults to visit.  There is almost everything one could want.  There are pristine beaches, challenging golf courses, great (expensive!) shopping and more.  Yet, more is needed when you are on vacation with your kids, where is the fun? The animals? The spectacle? The amazing?

…Have I mentioned that some kids are hard to please.  What kid wouldn’t want to walk a golf course for 5 plus hours?

Needless to say, most parent would avoid Palm Beach due to the fact that there was no obvious draw.  Come on, we are talking about the state that houses both Disney World and Universal Studios.  Yet for those parents and kids looking for something different in Florida that does not follow along those two brands, we submit to you our top 3 places to visit WITH YOUR KIDS in Palm Beach, Florida:

Lighthouse Cove Adventure Golf:

If you absolutely need to play golf but still need to have fun with the kiddies why not try out playing some amazing mini golf.  Located right next door to Palm Beach in Jupiter, Florida.  Lighthouse Cove has every thing you need to spend an entire afternoon, and once you are all done you can also have some great food (Burger Shack) and ice cream (3Scoops) as well.  The holes are ridiculous with interesting water hazards which make it challenging for even an experienced golfer but fun for any level.

McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary:

Not all of the attractions in Palm Beach are man-made.  Palm Beach is totally surrounded by marshlands and a number of sanctuaries protecting the fragile ecosystems contained within.  One of the more interesting visit is McCarthy’s Wildlife sanctuary.  Almost all the animals at the sanctuary were rescued from dangerous or illegal situations, and proceeds from tours go to the maintenance and care of the animals at the sanctuary.  I would recommend doing the guided tour, which takes small groups throughout the Sanctuary (cost $35-Adults 25$-Kids), the tour includes very close up encounters with the animals resulting in some amazing pictures and memories.

Diva Duck Amphibious Tours:

If you are looking at a one of a kind experience, try out the Diva Duck Amphibious Tours ($29-Adults, $15-Youths, $5-kids).  We loved the Duck Tours of Boston and this is a similar experience where you can get a history of the Palm Beach area and they once you go into the harbor you are treated to amazing views of the high priced homes as well as sea life including dolphins and manatees.

BONUS!!! For those of you that would like to do something that doesn’t tug on your purse strings I would recommend Peanut Island.  Peanut Island is a small manmade island off the coast between Singer Island and Palm Beach.   The island has plenty for everyone including campling, fishing and snorkeling.  If you are a history buff, you can also visit the nuclear bunker built for President John F. Kennedy during the Cold War.  The bunker is still maintain and offers tours as well.
