Cybil Shephard, Oh my!

By Gem

Good Afternoon Dancing hotdog readers,

For those of you who don’t know , Eddy, I and most of our staff editors live in CT.  And its quite an exciting time to be living in CT.

In 2006, Connecticut General Assembly passed new legislation that allowed production companies to receive a tax credit up to 30% for production expenses incurred in the state.

Smart thinking politicians!

And now Connecticut has begun to be called “Hollywood East” because of the huge flux of movies and celebrities showing up. From huge blockbusters to independent films, Connecticut is the place to be.

Like who you ask?

Leonardo DeCaprio and Kate Winslet for “Revolutionary Road”

Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro for “Righteous Kill”

And so many more it would make your head spin. For a complete listing click on this website. http://www.cultureandtourism.org/cct/cwp/view.asp?a=2126&Q=382318&PM=1

We live in Stratford, CT a small town in Fairfield county.  Nothing too exciting but imagine our surprise when we come back from the Mall on Monday night and get stuck in traffic on main street.

Yup, you guessed it another film production but the first in our town.  It was such a big deal the Mayor James Miron stopped by during a break to present Cybill Shepherd flowers.  Yes, Cybill Shepherd from “Moonlighting”, Cybill and lots more. Check out http://www.imdb.com/ for all the details. The movie they were working on is called ” Listen to Your Heart” an independent film by Wishing Well Pictures due out at the end of 2009.

Interesting huh?

I have a list of accomplishments that I want to do before I turn 30.  List includes have children (checked), be in a movie and visit Australia.  So if you here about any great trips to Australia pass it on my way.  I am going to make the movie item a new mission in my life.
