Disney’s Fall Social Media Event: Resorts

By Divina

As I posted earlier, I was given a “magical” opportunity to get an inside look at what Disney World and all its parks and resorts have to offer.  It was truly a “magical” experience and I am so appreciative for being invited.  In those four short days, I saw and ate so much that I am still processing all that information and digesting all that wonderful food. ; )  I will include a few posts starting with this one about resort accommodations.

I have been to Disney World Florida several times but my family never stayed in one of the resorts.  Thinking back, my parents probably thought, “it’s Disney and will be way too expensive for a family of five to vacation there for a week.”  I never questioned why we parked at the closest Holiday inn or some other similar hotel and drove into the parks each day.  Now fast forward to the whirlwind four days, I was pleasantly surprised with how Disney tries to make the Disney vacation accessible for any family no matter your economic status.

Of the 24 Disney resorts, we toured 3 different resorts at three different price points.

Value Resorts

Who knew that that there are so many Disney Value resorts that are very economical and have great themes like 20th century pop culture, movies, sports and music!

I got a chance to tour a family suite in the Calypso building of Disney’s All Star Music Resort that sleeps up to six people.  The suite had one large bedroom, a living room with pull out, two bathrooms and a mini kitchen for your vacationing needs.  The facilities included a large themed pool (Three Amigos ), a food court, pizza delivery, laundry services and transportation to and from Walt Disney parks.

Value Resort room prices vary but the starting rate for the family suite was $190.00 a night for off season days.

Moderate Resorts

These resorts have more; more amenities like bigger pools with slides and full service dining, bigger themes like Pirates of the Caribbean and Finding Nemo and cost more but still give the family the Disney vacation at a reasonable price.  The #Magicalmoms group and I toured the Pirates room at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and loved how every detail transported you into the movie or some tropical destination.

The Pirates room has two double size beds, one bath room and sleeps four guests.
