As you get older it gets harder and harder to buy your mother a present for Mother’s day. Gone are the days of macaroni necklaces and handmade clay figurines. Of course, even at 27, if I gave my mom one of these things she would absolutely love it (then again she probably would think it was from my almost 2 year old son!). The thing that makes it so difficult is that the conventional presents like flowers…while nice, just don’t cut it. So it got me to thinking of more unique suggestions for mother’s day. Fortunately, with the help of our friends at ThinkGeek we were able to put together a list of suggestions presents outside the usual for Mother’s Day.
For new/expecting moms:
Illuminated JetBib Feeding System (http://www.thinkgeek.com/interests/moms/c682/)
Eddy says: Definitly a great product. Check out our review.
RITMO – Prenatal Musical System (http://www.thinkgeek.com/interests/moms/b723/)
Eddy says: I for one think we need much better musicians in the world. I mean…have you really heard what is considered popular music right now? We might as well start introducing the new Mozart or Beethoven to music as early as possible.
For the mom that loves good food and drink:
Power Plant Herb Garden (http://www.thinkgeek.com/interests/moms/b7d7/)
Eddy says: grow fresh flowers and herbs without the mess of dirt…what mom wouldn’t love that.
Aeropress Coffee Maker (http://www.thinkgeek.com/interests/moms/8e3a/)
Eddy says: This is a great gift for the mom that is the only coffee drinker in the house (Divina!). Also saves in having to buy those expensive pods for other coffee makers.
IngeniuTEA 16oz Teapot (http://www.thinkgeek.com/interests/moms/96bb/)
Eddy says: Similar to the coffee Maker but for tea. Since I am the one that drinks tea this might be more of a Father’s day present.
For Mom about the House
Hozuki LED Candle Lantern (http://www.thinkgeek.com/interests/moms/d887/)
Eddy says: a cool little toy that give the candle effect without having the fire hazard of having an actual candle, for the clumsy mom (Divina!). If you blow on it the light will start to flicker, blow on it too hard and it will turn it.
