Not to get too mushy so early in the post, but Divina likes to say that we are soul mates. Of course, I agree with her (in no small part due to self preservation), but there was an instant during our visit to the Toy Fair that made me hesitant momentarily, it was at the moment that I walked into the ThinkGeek both and display. Not to freak those guys out too much (I don’t need another restraining order) but I ThinkGeek and I were made for each other or at least it was made for people like me.
The site is aimed at Star Wars/electronics/weird/retro/kids and adults/ironic/the awesome/me! So when you put it in prespective I might be in love…ha ha just kidding.
Wierdness aside, the guys at ThinkGeek were cool enough to let us try some of their products and here are our thoughts on them.
Illuminated Jetbib and Feeding System
No real words are necessary (See the pictures below), but I will use them anyways. When we saw this we instantly knew it would be perfect for Baby Boy. My only regret is not finding out about it sooner, since Baby Boy like to feed himself, leaving me out in the cold and unable to make the Airplane noises as it goes into the Hangar. With blinking lights both on the Jetspoon and bib, it is the pefect weapon agains those young ones who tend to discard those items immediately when the feeding starts and at only $20.00 this might be the only baby paraphanalia that is actually affordable these days.
Just take a look at this picture and tell me that it doesn’t work:
The Electronic Rock Guitar T-Shirt
In a nutshell, this shirt lets you play guitar and not in a pre recorded lame guitar riff that plays over and over. You can play up to 15 different power chords, and as an amateur musician I can tell you that with only those 15 you can play a heck of a lot of different songs as well as make them up yourself.
This caused quite a sensation on the internet:
For me this is definitely a step up from Guitar hero, at least it’s possible with the shirt to learn some music theory (or at least something useful)
To play the shirt all you need to do is put your finger on the chosen fret and strum over the string portion of the guitar with your magnetic pick and just rock out. Also included is a detachable mini Amp which clips to your belt and even allows you to mess around with the tone. Did I also mention the Amps volume goes to 11 (if you don’t know where this reference is from then please get medical attention immediately)
The T-shirt cost about $30.00 and is totally worth it when considering all the musically mayhem that you can create with it.
Disclaimer: I received review copies of the bib and t-shirt. That’s it, no other compensation.
