Eddy, Baby Boy and I were lucky enough to see the sold out Yo Gabba Gabba concert in The Beacon Theater last Saturday. This great opportunity was all because of the super cool NY City Mama , Carol and the giveaway she had and which I WON! I was so glad I won because not only was it Baby Boy’s first concert experience but he loves to dance so I knew he would have a great time. He is a big fan of So You Think You Can Dance , and he and his daddy take turns trying out the various dance moves they learn from the show.
I was so right, Baby Boy loved it. Too bad he won’t remember it later on. Oh well I have pictures and a couple of keepsakes to prove how cool of a mommy I am.
The Yo Gabba Gabba! Live: There is a Party in my City tour sold out in New York and Los Angeles. Based on the super popular children’s program, the live show has DJ Lance Rock and everyone’s favorite characters – Brobee (the little green one), Foofa (the pink flower bubble), Muno (the red Cyclops), Plex (magic robot) and Toodee (the blue cat-dragon) dance and sing to their favorite songs.
What was so great about the show was the producers knew what their preschooler and parent fans wanted and created a 75 minute show inspired by the show with special guests to “dancey dance”.
What special guests, you ask? Special guests like The Roots, Kerry Russell and Biz Markie! Throw in balloons, bubbles and song favorites like “Party In My Tummy, Don’t Be Afraid and Just Because It’s Different Doesn’t Mean Scary” and the whole family is dancing and clapping.
The concert was not too long and with all the dancing, singing and DJ Lance Rock interaction young concert-goers were very entertained. My favorite part was that everyone entering the theater got a pair of DJ Lance Rock card board glasses and during the performance and all the Daddies in the audience (including Eddy) had their glasses on and were dancing with their kids. Of course Baby boy’s favorite part was when a sea of balloons fell on everyone on in the theater, and when I say sea, I mean it, the crowd was covered in balloons almost up to their waists when standing up. Everyone had ball kicking and punching balloons all over the place, of course I took a couple of the balloons home with me so we could continue the fun after the show.
Don’t worry if you miss the concert the first Yo Gabba Gabba! Soundtrack was released on Oct. 20th . So you can partake in all the fun and have a party at your house!
Thanks again Carol!
Disclaimer: I won tickets to see this concert. This is my opinion on the concert.
