Lilo & Stitch Live Action – A Heartfelt and Beautifully Reimagined Classic

I had the joy of watching the new live-action Lilo & Stitch for the first time aboard a Disney Cruise — and let me tell you, there’s something extra magical about watching this heartfelt story surrounded by the ocean. Disney has lovingly reimagined the beloved 2002 animated classic, and the result is a touching, vibrant film that honors the original while standing on its own.

The Hawaiian setting is as stunning as ever, with lush cinematography that brings the island to life. The young actress playing Lilo is a true standout, capturing the quirky charm, emotional depth, and fierce loyalty that made the character so unforgettable. And Stitch? The CGI is impressively expressive — cute, chaotic, and 100% lovable.

What impressed me most was the movie’s commitment to ohana. The live-action version leans even more into the emotional bond between Lilo and Nani, their struggles, and the healing power of family. It’s funny, heartfelt, and full of that unique Disney spirit.

Watching Lilo & Stitch with my family on the cruise made the experience even more special, and I’m excited to revisit it again now that it’s available to stream. Whether you’re a longtime fan or introducing the story to a new generation, this version is well worth the watch.
